SHERMAN OAKS, CA, March 09, 2013 (Press-News.org) Kids Like Me, a program of The Help Group that offers camps, after school enrichment classes and programs, and weekend social activities for children, teens, and young adults with autism spectrum disorders and other special needs, is holding three spring break day camps for the first time in 2013: Village Glen Camp, Camp Sunshine, and Teens on the Go. Each camp is specifically designed to address varying ages, abilities, and needs and will be held from March 25-29 at The Help Group's Sherman Oaks campus in Los Angeles.
Village Glen Camp is a specialized social skills camp for children between the ages of 3 and 13 with high functioning autism spectrum disorders and related social challenges. Experienced Help Group therapists and counselors incorporate evidence-based practices into the daily schedule of fun and creative activities designed to promote skill development in areas critical to social growth and building friendships.
Camp Sunshine is designed for children, teens, and young adults between the ages of 3 and 21 with moderate to severe autism spectrum disorders and other developmental challenges. A multidisciplinary team of professionals oversees an enriching summer program that maximizes a child's potential and develops his or her strengths and abilities.
Teens on the Go is a unique social skills camp for teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 with high functioning autism spectrum disorders and other social challenges. Led by highly trained Help Group therapists, this program features daily trips, tours, and adventures with peers throughout the Los Angeles area.
