SAN JOSE, CA, March 11, 2013 (Press-News.org) Power Design Services, one of the fastest growing printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) producers in the Silicon Valley, has completed a $300,000 technological upgrade to its 8,000-square-foot facility in San Jose and is looking to hire more skilled staff members in 2013 to keep pace with client demand.
New state-of-the-art equipment additions enable Power Design Services to provide its high-quality contract manufacturing services more quickly and greater output according to founding partners Tuan Tran and Keith Schenk.
"Despite economic uncertainty, 2012 was another banner year for the company and we grew revenue by 20 percent," Tan said. "We quickly moved to invest in technology for our operations to ensure service quality remains top-notch as we continue to keep up with growing technology demand.
"Our new machines allow us to continue offering our trademark 24-hour turnaround for prototypes and urgent orders while maintaining superior customer service," he added.
Power Design Services new equipment upgrades include:
• Juki KE-1080: An 80-component high-precision, high-productivity placement mounter for printed circuit boards using laser chip alignment and vision centering technology
• Ekra X5 Professional automated screen printer: This professional printer can be used for solder paste and/or glue applications on PCBs, ceramics or glass substrates, with an extended printing area of up to 508x508mm (20 x 20 inches)
• Vitronics Soltec eight-zone convection reflow oven: PCB assembly solder reflow oven
• Conceptronics HGR2000 BGA Rework Station: The industry's most advanced system used to repeatedly place and solder SMT/BGA components, with a honeycomb infrared under-board pre-heater for flexible rework requirements
Tran and Schenk bring more than 40 years of combined experience to address every client need or issue, no matter how large or complex the job. "Our primary goal is complete customer satisfaction," Tran said.
