ROCKVILLE, MD, March 15, 2013 (Press-News.org) In partnership with TREE-MENDOUS Maryland, structural engineering firm Structura is commemorating its 25th anniversary by launching a social media contest to nominate local schools, businesses or other open spaces in Baltimore and Rockville to receive 25 free tree plantings.
Beginning April 15, 2013, Structura colleagues, clients, friends, vendors and community residents can submit suggestions for tree-planting locations in Rockville and in Baltimore to the company's Facebook page. Locations may include schools, playgrounds, neighborhoods, trails or any other public spaces within the city limits of Rockville or Baltimore as well as the surrounding areas. Private residences are not eligible for consideration. On May 16, 2013, the Structura staff will choose the winning locations in each city. With the help of TREE-MENDOUS Maryland and other volunteers, Structura will plant a total of 25 trees at these sites in the fall.
To nominate a location, post a photo and brief description of why Structura should choose this site to http://www.facebook.com/StructuraInc no later than May 15, 2013, and verify that your nominated location will accept tree donations.
According to Structura founder and principal Jeffrey Overmiller, "Our donation of trees symbolizes both the roots we've planted in Rockville and our new roots in Baltimore." Since its inception in 1988, Structura has grown from a one-person, home-based business to a firm with a growing staff and expanding client base with offices in Rockville and Baltimore. Overmiller says, "Our 25 years of success is a result of hard work, determination and commitment, and we look forward to celebrating that success with this unique promotion."
