Nashville Plastic Surgeon Named ASAPS President

Dr. Jack Fisher, a plastic surgery specialist in Nashville with more than 30 years of experience, is the new president of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Dr. Fisher previously served as president-elect of the society.

NASHVILLE, TN, March 16, 2013 (Press-News.org) The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) has selected Dr. Jack Fisher as its new president. Dr. Fisher, who practices plastic surgery in Nashville, has moved up through the ranks of leadership in the organization over the course of many years.

The appointment will be announced and confirmed during The Aesthetic Meeting in New York. Held from April 11 to 16, 2013 and presented by the ASAPS and the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation, this year's meeting will showcase innovative teaching methods, technological advancements and the latest research on aesthetic surgery and aesthetic medicine, says Dr. Fisher. Dr. Fisher will also be receiving the esteemed Best Panel Moderator Award for the third time at this year's meeting.

"I'm extremely honored and humbled," says Dr. Fisher. "I want to congratulate President McCafferty on his accomplishments and express my gratitude to my fellow members."

Currently president-elect of the ASAPS, Dr. Fisher previously served as head of education for 6 years, treasurer and vice-president. Dr. Fisher has been very involved in ASAPS leadership while maintaining his stature as one of the top plastic surgeons in Nashville.

As president, Dr. Fisher will reinforce the society's mission, which includes providing patients with the best and safest aesthetic surgery available. It also involves keeping ASAPS members informed about the latest advances in aesthetic science, such as innovations in breast implants. The Nashville surgeon says "I have made a long-term commitment to my patients, my peers, and the ASAPS. I look forward to this new facet of my career."

Dr. Jack Fisher is a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in breast enhancement, body contouring and facial enhancement, as well as non-surgical skin care treatments. He is well-known and respected throughout the country and has been a speaker at conferences throughout the world on breast and aesthetic surgery. He is an associate clinical professor of plastic surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Fisher received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. He completed internships and residencies in general surgery at George Washington University Medical Center and a plastic surgery residency at an Emory University affiliated hospital. He was on staff at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, from 1981 to 1986 as an attending plastic surgeon.
