Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas to Host "Out of this World" Awards Ceremony March 17

Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas will host the Cookie Box Creations awards ceremony on March 17 at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.

DALLAS, TX, March 16, 2013 (Press-News.org) Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas will host the Cookie Box Creations awards ceremony on March 17 at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. Themed "Out of This World," this year's design contest featured eight teams consisting of Girl Scouts and mentors in the architecture and engineering fields. The creations are currently being displayed at the Perot Museum and will be taken down following the awards ceremony. In support of its mission to inspire minds through nature and science, this is the third year that the Perot Museum has collaborated with Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas to host and help judge the unique Cookie Box Creations.

WHAT: Cookie Box Creations teamed up Girl Scouts in Northeast Texas with women architects and engineers to turn empty Girl Scout cookie boxes into free-standing structures. The contest helps girls interested in architecture or engineering careers to develop critical thinking skills and promote cooperation and team building.

The awards ceremony will highlight the success of this year's program. Awards will be given for the first, second and third place winners as well as the 2013 People's Choice Award.
