C&I Studios' The Distance Accepted Into Hollyweb Festival

Fort Lauderdale Based Film Studio Debuts Their First Web Series in Los Angeles on April 5th-7th

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, March 16, 2013

C&I Studios of Fort Lauderdale, Florida is one of only two Florida web series to be accepted into the Hollyweb Festival. The Hollyweb Festival takes place April 5-7th, 2013 at Raleigh Studios in Los Angeles, California and will give filmmakers a platform to showcase their most recent projects. Awards will be given in categories such as Best Editing, Best Screenwriting, and Best Original Music.

The Distance is a web-based drama about long distance relationships while addressing social, political, and religious issues through the storyline and characters. The show is filmed in South Florida and New York City, and currently, the 6th episode is in production.

Josh Miller, Executive Director of C&I Studios, explains his inspiration for creating The Distance, "As a film maker, I love shows that are real, honest, and most importantly, I love watching films and television shows that make me think after it's over. I wanted to write a show that was honest and real. Also long distance relationships and their battles are something that everyone can relate to, so I thought that would be a strong subject."

The Distance has also given up and coming actors an opportunity to participate in a show with national reach, such as Josiah Sampson, the male lead, and Eric Aragon who played an integral role in assembling the cast through his network in South Florida.

The Distance has gained a loyal following since their first episode, and have garnered 41,000+ views since the inception of the series.

"It's really great to write a show that has an audience, we would be nothing without the people that watch the show and send us emails about it. I can only hope to continue to write the show and have viewers connect with it. Hopefully that pays off end the end", says Miller.
