Luhrs & Associates President Named to League of Women Voters Board of Directors & Elected Co-Vice President

LEONIA, NJ October 26, 2010 (Press-News.org) Joyce Luhrs, president of the marketing, public relations and management firm Luhrs & Associates, was appointed to a two-year term on the board of directors of the League of Women Voters of Northern Valley and elected co-vice president.

The League of Women Voters of Northern Valley is a chapter of the League of Women Voters of New Jersey, a non-partisan political organization. The League of Women Voters was founded in April 1920 as a successor to the New Jersey Woman Suffrage Association and is celebrating its 90 anniversary this year. The League encourages informed and active participation in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

Ms. Luhrs has been involved in the League of Women Voters in various capacities for several years, including serving on the board of directors of a local League of Women Voters as membership chair and creating and implementing publicity campaigns. As a member of the League of Women Voters of NJ State Education Committee, she coordinated a conference on issues impacting education in urban areas in the state.
