AgilQuest's OnBoard Desk and Conference Room Booking Technology Now Supports Clustering and HA

New service assists large and global enterprise IT when adding office space reservation software to high availability infrastructure.

2013-03-18
RICHMOND, VA, March 18, 2013 (Press-News.org) AgilQuest Corporation announced a support service for OnBoard, their hoteling and conference room management technology, and its use in clusters and similar high availability configurations in large organizations. Automatic failover of servers within a cluster allows IT departments to keep mission-critical applications running and available for their employees with little or no interruption. This new service offering supports IT departments in configuring and testing OnBoard and its components within their existing HA environment.

"With a single installation of OnBoard our clients support as many as 100,000 users worldwide. That means every minute of every day someone is finding, booking, or checking into a desk or conference room. They count on OnBoard's database and application server components to be up and responsive and that means we've got to be highly available," said Brian Collier, CTO.

High availability has been an option with OnBoard since the 2012 release of OnBoard OnDemand, a cloud-hosted version, but the new cluster support service allows IT departments to add on-premise OnBoard to their existing world-class internal operations. Integration with existing systems allows participation in existing licenses, monitoring, dashboards and expertise.

Matthew Fahy, CFO, added the Finance and Operations perspective to today's announcement: "Those ten-bucks-a-month reservation websites and freebie phone apps may work for smaller single office firms, but in today's services-driven economy Fortune 500 companies and publicly-traded global enterprises can't afford unplanned downtime or any productivity impact on their mobile workforce. Our customers need the system reliability of four or five nines and only AgilQuest can deliver that."
