Acworth Dentists are Specialists in Teeth Restoration and Replacement

Dr. Steve Hahn is proud that his staff consists of prosthodontists, dentists with additional in-depth training.

2013-03-20
ACWORTH, GA, March 20, 2013 (Press-News.org) Dr. Steve Hahn, dentist in Acworth and Midtown Atlanta is pleased that his staff at Georgia Implant Center consists of prosthodontists. Prosthodontists are dentists that specialize in cosmetic restoration and replacement of teeth and undergo an additional three to four years of training after dental school. They are the only specialists trained to an expert level to restore teeth and less than 2% of all dentists are actually prosthodontists.

"I am very happy that our practice consists of these experts. Our experience and friendly staff are what set us apart. We are able to provide a high level of care to our patients. I hope that all of our patients know that we have the education and knowledge they can trust," said Dr. Hahn, Woodstock, Kennesaw, Midtown Atlanta and Acworth family dentist.

By going through the additional training, prosthodontists are capable of diagnosing and treating the underlying problems as part of an overall treatment program. They can also sometimes reverse congenital defects and the long-term effects of oral neglect and trauma. Prosthodontists are able to perform a wide variety of complex procedures including reconstruction following oral cancer surgery, jaw and jaw joint problems and treating traumatic injuries to the mouth.

Types of Dental Implants

2013-03-20

There are two basic types of dental implants, which are referred to as endosteal and subperiosteal. You can discuss these types of dental implants with your dentist, but generally you can rely on your oral surgeon to choose the dental implant that will work for you. Independent Contractor or Employee: Avoiding Costly IRS Reclassifications

2013-03-20
As businesses struggle to stay afloat in this economy, many employers are tempted to classify workers as independent contractors, in order to avoid paying employment taxes. While the temptation exists, for most businesses it is an honest mistake, caused by the confusing legal standard used to classify workers. Other times, the IRS overreaches and attempts to reclassify workers who were correctly treated as independent contractors. Over the past few years, the IRS has waged an aggressive campaign of auditing businesses and reclassifying independent contractors to employees. ...

Big Pharma Plus Drug Research Equals Big Trouble

2013-03-20
In the early years of drug research, the government gave scientists funding to develop and discover new drugs. When discoveries were made, pharmaceutical companies would manufacture the drug, secure the patent and reap the benefits of the newest drug on the market. A Changing Industry A lot has changed since then, and according to the Washington Post, the changes may not be for the better. Pharmaceutical companies are funding their own research now, and in doing so, can circumvent the built-in checks and balances that existed when outside agencies did the funding ...
