UK's Leading Independent Auction House and APW Asset Management Announce Largest Wine Auction to be Held in Scotland

This month, in conjunction with APW Asset Management, McTear's announced the largest ever wine auction to be held in Scotland. More than 10,000 bottles of New World's finest wines will go under the hammer in Glasgow this month.

LONDON, ENGLAND, March 23, 2013 (Press-News.org) For over 170 years Glasgow based auctioneers McTear's have provided an avenue for customers from all around the world to furnish their homes with the millions of objects that have passed through the auction room doors. McTear's is world famous for auctions of fine & rare Whisky, holding several world records in the sale of whisky. Such is the international demand for the expertise of McTear's specialist in the category, its annual calendar has seen an increase from four auctions to ten in 2012. Also known for sales of rare Port, Cognac, Vintage Wine and occasionally, cigars.

Well known for its famous and celebrity collectors and enthusiasts, including a young William Burrell, have bid in their auction rooms. McTear's has developed into one of the largest independent auction houses in the UK.

This month, in conjunction with APW Asset Management, McTear's announced the largest ever wine auction to be held in Scotland. More than 10,000 bottles of New World's finest wines will go under the hammer in Glasgow this month. The sale has attracted interest from collectors across the world.

APW Asset Management's COO Damien Dawson said' "in our continued efforts to bring awareness and highlight the growing interest and prices in some of the New World's finest wines, we are only too happy to set a benchmark in the UK as we are doing in China through local affiliates like McTears".

McTear's wine specialist David Gillies said: "We have developed a global reputation for our whisky sales and we are delighted to now take our auctions onto a new level with the biggest sale of wine ever seen in Scotland."

The auction will feature some of Australia's premium, small production, boutique artisan wines across a broad selection in classic vintages that are reaching their optimum drinking window. An essential sale for all collectors and discerning drinkers.

"This auction offers collectors and drinkers an opportunity to acquire some of the hardest to source, best kept secrets from the New World's most exciting wine producing nation", says Enzo Giannotta, CEO of APW Asset Management.

Amongst the lots on offer are wines from Kay Brothers, Henry's Drive and Branson Coach House, with estimated prices ranging from GBP100 to GBP1000 per case.

Auction starts: Monday 4th March at 2pm
Auction ends: Monday 25th March at 9pm
