THOUSAND OAKS, CA, March 23, 2013 (Press-News.org) Dimension 5 Media is developing a marine life book that uses cutting edge technology to bring the pages to life. When viewed through a smart phone, tablet or web cam, an image will produce a holographic style, full motion scene that will stretch your imagination, and encourage a significantly deeper level of interaction and connectivity.
"People see this and they think it's some kind of magic" says Vince Castell of Dimension 5, "we are constantly amazed at how captivated people are when they see our demonstrations. We use a relatively new technology called augmented reality (AR) to transform a two dimensional image into a 3 dimensional environment with dynamic interactivity. In effect, we bridge the gap between the real and digital worlds to create a new form of storytelling."
Dimension 5 is currently running a campaign on Kickstarter, a leading crowd funding platform, to complete the sea life book project. According to Castell, "Kickstarter has built an incredible vehicle that allows project backers to follow, fund and participate in creative projects. People back projects for all kinds of reasons but many are simply inspired by a new idea that they want to help bring to life." Backers are also "inspired by a project's rewards — a copy of what's being made, a limited edition, or a custom experience related to the project."
