BELLEVUE, WA, October 27, 2010 (Press-News.org) Practice Management Alternatives, LLC, a leading healthcare compliance firm with offices in Boca Raton, FL and Bellevue, WA, is proud to announce the formation of The Healthcare Investigations Group. The newly formed subsidiary will work with health systems, health insurers, medical device manufacturers, health lawyers and law enforcement to:
- Investigate claims fraud and abuse in the federal, state and commercial systems;
- Assist regulators in determinations of care quality;
- Facilitate appeals to adverse findings;
- Ensure appropriate internal controls and compliance;
- Investigate provider misconduct; and,
- Facilitate internal compliance investigations.
"This new group is designed to work in spaces where others don't have expertise," says Bryan Brookman-Jones, a compliance researcher with PMA-Florida. "We heard from our healthcare compliance clients that they were in need of specialized investigation services, service they weren't able to provide using internal resources. That understanding and our experience with attorneys representing providers dealing with adverse findings or internal investigation of provider misconduct, lead us to create the Group."
The Healthcare Investigations Group (HIG) will be headed by Dr. Donald Jones, a seasoned professional whose board certifications reflect the scope of the Group's work. Dr. Jones is board certified in Health Care Compliance (Health Care Compliance Certification Board of HCCA), Fraud investigations (Association of Certified Fraud Examiners), Forensic Examination and Medical Investigation-V (American College of Forensic Examiners) and is a Diplomate of the American College of Forensic Examiners.
The Healthcare Investigation Group will bring proven investigative skills, significant clinical expertise, knowledge of healthcare compliance and behavioral science in support of client activities. With a primary location in the Boca Raton office, the Group will be mobile and work in multiple venues around the country. The HIG is licensed as a private investigative firm in the State of Florida.
