SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA, March 27, 2013 (Press-News.org) Plustek Technology Inc. (www.plustek.com/usa), a major manufacturer of imaging devices, today announced that its Plustek D430 scanner aids pharmacies and healthcare practices with patient registration to convert their systems to Electronic Healthcare Records (EHR). The scanner's compact design and horizontal paper feeding method, enables the scanner to fit on the desktop, below the transaction counter of a typical reception station.
The typical document scanner with Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) is taller than 15" when loaded with paper. The typical transaction counter of a reception station is approximately 14" from the desktop making difficult, if not impossible, to load paper when the ADF scanner is placed under the transaction counter overhang. The Plustek D430 can be placed against the wall of the reception station and is only 2.5" tall so it easily fits under all transaction counter overhangs. It scans both sides of a document or ID card in about 2.5 seconds.
"Hospitals, clinics, labs, physicians, dentists and pharmacies now have an alternative when selecting a scanner for their registration areas," said Mark Druziak, Plustek's director of marketing and business development. "The horizontal feeding, coupled with high speed scanning of document and IDs increases reception staff efficiency." Druziak added, "The Plustek D430 scanner reduces registration time, automates data entry, improves data accuracy, speeds up claim processing and meets meaningful use requirements."
In medical offices and pharmacies, Plustek's D430 scanners are frequently used to scan and digitize a wide variety of documents such as: insurance cards, driver's licenses, corporate ID cards, credit cards, business cards, HIPAA forms, payment checks, medical prescriptions and claim documents. The small footprint, high speed and ergonomic user-friendly design increases practitioners' efficiency and reduces patient wait times making it an ideal scanner for any type of reception area.
Key Features
• Fast Scan Speed - scan both sides of ID cards and documents in about 2.5 seconds.
• Easy Paper Feeding - insert pages and IDs horizontally.
• Easy to Use - single-touch button scanning. Save as searchable PDF or image file at the touch of a button.
• Compact design - easily fits any type of reception station, desktop and small space.
• EMR Integration - TWAIN and WIA drivers ensure integration with most registration and EMR software.
