HOUSTON, TX, October 27, 2010 (Press-News.org) Training methods based on effective communication are giving dog owners the ability to eliminate their dog's problem behaviors. Many buy or adopt a dog with the hope of it becoming another member of the family. Unfortunately, many owners experience common dog behavior problems and have no idea how to handle them. This often leads to the emotionally difficult decision to give up their dog.
"64% of all dogs given up are due to common behavior problems," says Jason Dorn of The Dog Training Source, a website and newsletter that help dog owners eliminate behavioral problems. Dorn continues, "Successful training is simply a matter of communicating on a level a dog understands. Dogs can't think and rationalize like humans, but many owners expect them to." According to Dorn, the key is communicating on their level in a way that is meaningful to your dog. This is the same approach popularized by the dog whisperer, Cesar Millan, and has been shown to have a 96% success rate.
A video example of this type of training is available to view at http://thedogtrainingsource.blogspot.com. The video shows a simple training method that dog owners can use to eliminate a common dog behavior problem.
Jason Dorn, owner of The Dog Training Source, is an authority on dog training. His website and newsletter focuses on dog training tips and methods, dog health, and information that enhances the dog ownership experience. Visit his site at http://thedogtrainingsource.blogspot.com.
