MORRISVILLE, NC, April 01, 2013 (Press-News.org) Dr. Pratik Desai, MD FACC, President of Avance Care, P.A. announced that Dr. Jennifer Thompson and Dr. Payson Thompson will join the team of medical professionals at Avance Care Morrisville, located at 6402 McCrimmon Parkway, Suite 100.
Dr. Jennifer Thompson, a Board Certified Family Physician, is originally from Buffalo NY and relocated to Raleigh in 1997. Dr. Thompson received her undergraduate training from SUNY Buffalo and UNC Chapel Hill, and then attended the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. She comes to Avance Care with experience gained from a rich and diverse medical background. While working at a primary care clinic in California, she gained excellent experience in her primary interests of acute and well childcare, management of chronic disease, preventative services for both men and women, and contraceptive management. She enjoys taking care of and forming lasting relationships with patients of all ages and stages of life, working with other cultures, and speaking Spanish.
Dr. Payson Thompson, a Board Certified Family Physician, is originally from High Point, NC and attended the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Dr. Payson received his Family Medicine training in Ventura, California at a respected residency program known for training full-spectrum family doctors. He comes to Avance Care with gained experience in all aspects of family medicine. Dr. Thompson is especially drawn to outpatient medicine and the intimate relationships formed with patients over many years. Dr. Payson Thompson enjoys working with a variety of patients and feels confident caring for all ages from birth to end of life. He speaks Spanish fluently and but enjoys caring for people from many cultures and walks of life. Other areas of interest in the medical field include rheumatology and arthritis, sports medicine, emergency services and gynecology.
Dr. Jennifer Thompson and Dr. Payson Thompson are married, have two children and will be job-sharing at Avance Care Morrisville so that they can be active in their children's day-to-day lives.
