Omni Health and Fitness and CPR South Partner to Provide Lifesaving CPR Training

Omni Health and Fitness of Pensacola is taking steps to provide a safer environment as well as a better prepared community.

2010-10-27
PENSACOLA, FL, October 27, 2010 (Press-News.org) Omni Health and Fitness Center and CPR South have announced their partnership to include American Heart Association CPR training to the extensive list of classes offered by the fitness center. "Safety should be one of the utmost concerns of a health club. At Omni Health and Fitness we take great pride in knowing that we are doing our best to stay on top of safety," explains Sal Davila, General Manager at Omni Health and Fitness.

The CPR classes are open to the public and will be held from 9:30 to 12:30 on the first Saturday of each month with the next class scheduled for November 6th. The cost for the class is $35 and members of Omni Health and Fitness will receive a $5 discount on registration. Following the class, participants will receive a "Heartsaver AED" course-completion card and be certified for 2-years with the American Heart Association. "Heartsaver AED" covers the life-saving skills of adult, child and infant CPR as well as relief of choking. Participants will also receive hands-on training with an automated external defibrillator (AED).

"It is exciting that the management and staff at Omni is pro-active when it comes to both cardiovascular fitness and cardiovascular welfare. Our hope is that the resources taught through our classes will help the citizens of Pensacola and surrounding areas to be better prepared in the event of an emergency," said Randy Boone, Owner of CPR South.

According to Davila, Omni has taken workplace safety to the next level. "We are proud to say, with the help of CPR South, our staff is CPR certified and we now have a defibrillator at our gym. Enhancing workplace safety is a major reason why CPR certified employees are so important. Having the knowledge of life saving techniques and being able to perform CPR could be the difference between life and death of a co-worker, gym member, family member or friend."

Pre-registration is required and those interested can register online at http://www.cpr-south.com, by visiting Omni Health and Fitness at 5007 N. Davis Hwy in Pensacola or by contacting CPR South at (334)444-8399.
