OREM, UT, 05, 2013 (Press-News.org) KLAS' new report on outpatient pharmacy shines a light on the performance disparity between vendors in an often underperforming healthcare segment. The report, entitled Outpatient Pharmacy 2013: What Does My Vendor Deliver?, focuses on measuring functionality in several key areas as well as on ACO integration and 340B preparedness.
"With reimbursements dwindling, outpatient pharmacy products have the potential to be an added revenue stream for providers," said report author Adam Cherrington. "This segment regularly scores lower than other healthcare segments. We had to find out why. There were definitely some bright spots in the report and some strong feedback as to which products are clearly ahead in this space."
The report looked at offerings from Cerner, Epic, HBS, McKesson, PCSI, QS/1, and ScriptPro and reported on the functionality of modules as well as overall performance. The modules reviewed in the study include workflow system, inventory management, interactive voice response, online refill, and point of sale.
