NORTH VANCOUVER, BC, April 07, 2013 (Press-News.org) TapSnap (www.tapsnap.net), the special event photo booth reinvented for the social media era, is bringing its revolutionary brand of phototainment to corporate events, parties, weddings and more throughout the Greater Toronto Area and beyond, after making its regional debut at the Ajax-Pickering Spring Wedding Show in February.
"TapSnap brings instantaneous fun to any event, especially corporate events where sometimes people are a little nervous or they don't know everyone," says local TapSnap franchise owner Janet Irven. "It removes people's inhibitions and helps them loosen up. Unlike a photo booth, it's out in the open and spontaneous. And the real-time social media aspect is huge."
The TapSnap phototainment system is a giant 42-inch multi-touch screen instantly connected to social media so it actively encourages event guests to create a social media profile for an event by sharing their pictures or videos. With a touch of a fingertip on the screen, guests can compose and take their photos like magic, draw and write personal messages on them, and add digital props like googly eyes and funny hats.
"Photo booths have been a popular, profitable business for decades, but the equipment has only marginally improved over the years. TapSnap capitalizes on recent advances in multi-touch technology that made it possible to create a larger-than-life, incredibly responsive photo system that is instantly connected to social media," says Scott McInnes, the CEO and founder of TapSnap, which is based in North Vancouver, Canada.
TapSnap's GTA schedule is already filling up, with scheduled events that include a wedding in Oakville, a corporate harbour cruise in Toronto, a wedding in Pickering, and the Flavours Festival local food festival in Peterborough.
Each TapSnap unit comes with a minimum of one staff person to assist guests, and is available for packages from two to six hours or more.
"As a former event planner, I could immediately see the potential TapSnap has to add a huge boost of excitement to any party or event - from graduations to milestone birthdays to bar and bat mitzvahs to weddings and more," says Irven.
Irven is a single mother and entrepreneur who started her TapSnap franchise as a compliment to her part-time movie rental kiosk business, Express Cinema (http://expresscinema.mydvdkiosks.net/member/home), a DVDNow Kiosks (www.DVDNowKiosks.com) business. Both of these part-time business give her the flexibility she needs to be there for her 10-year old son.
"I spent years being working all hours as an oil and gas executive. Now I want to do work that makes people happy, provides entertainment and adds joy to their lives," says Irven.
