U.S. News Names Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger Among Best Law Firms Nationwide
2010-10-28
October 28, 2010 (Press-News.org) The October 2010 edition of U.S. News and World Report, U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers named the California law firm of Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger among the nation's "Top Tier" law firms in multiple practice areas and "Best Law Firms" overall. The rating organization recognized the firm as a National Top Tier Law Firm in Product Liability Litigation and a Top Tier Firm in San Francisco for its work in the fields of Medical Malpractice Law, Personal Injury Litigation and Product Liability Litigation.

To determine the "Best Law Firms" in the country, U.S. News and Best Lawyers surveyed more than 50,000 clients, nearly 44,000 lawyers and a variety of other professionals who interact with law firms, such as summer associates and recruiting officers. Clients voted on issues such as expertise and responsiveness, while lawyers were asked to consider the integrity and expertise of colleagues in the field. Qualitative and quantitative data was combined to determine an overall score for each firm, and firms were then categorized into tiers.

This most recent honor adds to the growing list of the firm's peer-based recognitions, both locally and nationwide. All of the firm's partners have been recognized on either the Super Lawyers or Rising Stars lists. Seven individual members of the firm (including six partners) have been recognized among the Best Lawyers in America. Of these six, four are Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers, an honor extended to only a select group of trial lawyers. In 2009, one of the firm's partners was selected as the "Best Personal Injury Attorney" in San Francisco by attorney-readers of San Francisco's Recorder legal newspaper. A Walkup partner was also elected as the San Francisco Trial Lawyer's "Trial Lawyer of the Year" for 2010.

For more than 50 years, the San Francisco, California personal injury attorneys of Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger have successfully represented the rights and interests of people who have suffered serious injuries or lost loved ones as the result of the negligence and wrongdoing of others. As leaders in the areas of personal injury and wrongful death, the firm has helped to shape the laws of liability in California and throughout the country.
