Providence Insurance Group encourages everyone to become more engaged in their health care to lower costs.

Georgia Group Health Insurance Provider, Providence, Knows that Involved Patients See Better Results
2013-04-11
NORCROSS, GA, April 11, 2013 (Press-News.org) Providence Insurance Group, a Georgia small group health insurance broker, finds that in health care as in life, people see better results the more involved they are in the process. New research published in February's issue of Health Affairs confirms this theory, showing that patients' level of engagement in their health care corresponds inversely with how much they pay for health care.

Patients who are invested in their overall wellbeing and are highly engaged in ensuring that they receive the best health care have significantly lower average healthcare costs than those who don't--from between 8 percent to 21 percent lower. This proved true even within the same illnesses and across patient demographics. Overall, regardless of all else, patients who were more active in their health care management paid less than patients with the same conditions who were less active about their health care.

"To us, this research just proves that every person should become more interested in their overall state of wellness and in the health care they receive," explains Drew Holley, Vice President of Providence Insurance Group, a provider of small business health insurance in Georgia. "As this research proves, being invested in your health can truly change your personal outcome. It's time for us to all become more proactive about our health."

Providence Insurance Group has become one of the top names among Georgia group health insurance brokers. Catering mainly to small businesses, Providence Insurance Group cares deeply about the quality of health care its clients receive and encourages all of its clients to be more involved in their health care.
