MINNETONKA, MN, April 11, 2013 (Press-News.org) Exlar, a business group of Curtiss-Wright Controls, announces the expansion of its K Series line of linear actuators with new 75 mm frame size. K Series actuators combine roller screw technology in varying performance levels and allow the use of third party motors for a flexible motion control solution. Along with its 60 mm and 90 mm frame sizes, the new 75 mm models feature dimensions and form-factor consistent with ISO Metric pneumatic cylinder specifications for easy pneumatic and hydraulic replacement.
Constructed for flexibility, K Series actuators are compatible with any type and style of motor, such as DC, stepper and servo, and offer universal mounting configurations to meet diverse application requirements. For additional application suitability, K75 actuators are available in three distinct performance options:
--KX75 actuators incorporate a high performance planetary roller screw to deliver performance capabilities ideal for demanding applications in industrial automation, mobile equipment, process control and other applications requiring millions of inches of travel under load.
--KM75 actuators employ a lower cost planetary roller screw for applications lacking the same longevity requirements offered in the KX Series, while still delivering twice the life of similarly sized ball screw actuators and the operational efficiency and resistance to shock associated with roller screws.
--KA75 actuators utilize an Acme screw, making them ideal for slow-speed, low-duty cycle applications where the load must occasionally be repositioned during operation.
Exlar's K Series actuators offer standard stroke lengths up to 48 inches, longer custom stroke lengths are also available. The standard body design of the K Series provides an IP54S sealed housing with options available for IP65S sealing. A variety of materials and coatings are also offered, such as Type III hard coat anodizing, electroless nickel plating and epoxy coating, to accommodate applications that require a high corrosion-resistance.
To learn more about K75 actuators or the full line of K Series actuators, download the K Series Linear Actuator Brochure.
