SOUTHBURY, CT, April 11, 2013 (Press-News.org) Golfers and non-golfers alike are invited to join Southbury WomenâEUR s Club (SWC) in its first annual tournament on Monday, June 17, 2013, sponsored by Waterbury Orthopaedic Associates, PC. Participants will enjoy 18-holes on the championship golf course of Heritage Country Club, cart, dinner at Fairways Tavern and Terrace, and prizes.
In itâEUR s continued endeavor to raise awareness of community needs and make contributions that improve quality of life, SWC is dedicating proceeds of the tournament to camperships for children of low-income families. The mission is to nurture ambition to learn and develop, while having fun, in a non-competitive environment. Additionally, a contribution will be made to the Pomperaug High School Scholarship Fund to help further schooling of current seniors.
Participation is $150 per player, and players may invite guests to join in dinner for an additional $40. Interested parties are encouraged to pre-register at http://www.southburywomensclub.org or call 203-706-0724.
Southbury Women's Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to combine the talents and interests of our members in order to enrich the community. Through club-sponsored projects and events, as well as collaboration with local support organizations, we raise awareness of local need, demonstrate the importance of community service, and improve the quality of life for those in need. Past projects include providing backpacks full of supplies for needy Southbury school children, donations to Southbury Fuel & Food Banks and Needy Fund, annual camp scholarships and high school scholarships, supporting our veterans, promoting music and art for children and many causes in and around Southbury.
