TORONTO, ON, April 12, 2013 (Press-News.org) Cloud Dynamics Inc., a global provider of data centre and cloud computing solutions, is pleased to announce that it was awarded a project to modernize three data centres for Seneca College, one of Canada's largest post-secondary institutions with campuses across the Greater Toronto Area.
"Forward-thinking organizations, like Seneca, recognize the importance of staying ahead of the curve," observes Dr. Mirza Kamaludeen, Chief Technology Officer, Cloud Dynamics Inc. "Upon completion of this eight-month project, Seneca's computing environment will be optimized for increased energy efficiencies, including uptime, capacity and sustainable operations, as well as ensuring overall operating cost reductions."
"We look forward to working with Cloud Dynamics, a team with a proven track record for designing and building eco-data centres which are innovative, agile and efficient," comments Roy Hart, Seneca's Chief Information Officer.
Cloud Dynamics' guiding principles include dramatically improving energy efficiency, ensuring system simplicity, enhancing availability, improving manageability and driving cost efficiencies to design, implement and operate the data centre of the future to address today's needs.
"Power is one of the largest IT operating costs after people in data centres," remarks Dr. Kamaludeen. "From our research, an estimated 60% of all data centre power is reserved for cooling. In addition, more than 80% of existing data centres cannot adequately address high-density computing needs because of the limited cooling capability per square foot. With the increasing energy costs and the growing dominance of high-density IT equipment, the case for addressing data centre efficiencies is compelling."
"Leveraging modern technology and science, more than 80% of energy spent addressing data centre cooling can be saved or re-purposed," comments Dr. Kamaludeen. "Our technologies address high density computing needs right out of the box."
Cloud Dynamics' data centre design-build team consists of in-house and partner IT architects, engineers and contractors. Together, they design and build eco-data centres which are energy efficient and high-density computing ready. A cost effective, reliable and relevant data centre ensures IT efficiency and is one of the pillars of cloud computing readiness.
About Seneca: With campuses across the Greater Toronto Area, Seneca offers degrees, diplomas and certificates renowned for their quality and respected by employers.
