Recently AITOC has released new extension for Magento store owners, which tracks page load time, saves data for future analysis and for choosing effective comprehensive solutions for Magento store speed-up. Server Load Monitor is the second in the group of modules developed for Magento performance optimization by AITOC Inc. Magento Booster, Server Load Monitor and Server Configuration Calculator together with professional server administration consulting from AITOC is the ultimate solution for significant reduction of Magento store load time and for improvement of customer shopping experience.Each of three modules performs its own function for the general purpose. Magento Booster is called to reduce Magento store's loading time mainly by using pages caching, java script compressing and server performance improvement. The main features of this module are:
• Completely and efficiently caches the pages of the visitors areas (i.e. the areas your store visitors see and browse before they log in);
• Dynamic blocks such as Recently Viewed, Random Products and Random Reviews are cached upon the visitor's first view;
• Dynamic blocks that require interactivity with the shopper, like Compare, Cart, Wishlist, are not cached;
• Temporarily blocks search engine bots during critical load peaks;
• Disables dynamic content during critical load peaks and lets Admin choose whether to not display dynamic content blocks at all or have them replaced with placeholder text;
• Enables Admin to redistribute (by sleep) server resources among types of pages (Catalog, CMS, Search, Cart and Checkout, Other) depending on their importance during critical load peaks;
• Limits server resources based on shoppers' priority (guest or logged-in, contents of the shopping cart);
• Allows for users to enter their e-mail to be notified when the store is available;
• Sends out an e-mail notification (with an optional discount) to users who wish to be notified when the store is back up.
Server Load Monitor tracks server load and alerts about overloading and server crash. It provides overview of load-related processes in the form of color-coded statistic diagrams. Here are the features:
• Allows for monitoring the following: CMS, Checkout, Catalog, Catalog Search and other pages;
• Divides server performance into four intuitive color-coded zones;
• Allows for tracking Average and Max page load and load time for a selected time period;
• Displays color-coded live server load info in the Admin panel;
• Alerts Admin about critical load peaks via mail and/or pop-up messages;
• Admin can specify the conditions upon which to get alert notifications to avoid clutter in the mailbox;
• Provides statistics for every minute;
• Allows for comparing stats for different time periods;
• Load statistics are stored in a database;
• Compresses data automatically to avoid overloading the database. Default compression settings are optimized and recommended, but Admin is enabled to choose preferred compression settings as well as compress the data manually;
• Sends data to AITOC's Server Calculator in order to configure and recommend you better server settings.
And finally, Server Configuration Calculator, which is expected to be released in the end of April, recommends server configurations and hosting. Admin can find three options in the report: min required / good enough / best choice. He will be free to choose any of them, but he is also able to save on hosting by installing Magento Booster or ordering server administration services from AITOC. Comparison of Magento speed with Magento Booster and administration services and without ones are available in the suggested variants of server configurations as well.
AITOC started in 2001. Today it is a web development company with four years experience of Magento software development.
