RED BANK, NJ, April 14, 2013 (Press-News.org) Community Green Energy, LLC. and Alternative Utility Services, Inc., announced today that they will be present to discuss Municipal Energy Aggregation and the resulting renewable energy benefits, options and solutions at the New Jersey Conference of Mayors Spring Conference on Thursday, April 25 and Friday April 26, 2013. They will be at Booth #219.
Municipal Energy Aggregation allows communities to aggregate the electric loads of all the residents to choose their electric supply including renewable energy components to support the community's sustainability goals.
"We're looking forward to informing communities about the renewable energy options MEA has opened up, including our new and innovative business model; the VSPPA." said Fritz Kreiss, President of Alternative Utility Services, "VSPPAs directly support the development and construction of direct grid tied solar generation in NJ by eliminating the complexity and roadblocks of sourcing renewable energy from off-site sources."
The Virtual Solar Power Purchase Agreement (VSPPA), co-developed by Community Green Energy and Alternative Utility Services, is said to provide electricity users with a simpler and more transparent way to sponsor an existing or planned solar generation project through purchasing the off-site electricity generated directly from it over a 15 to 20 year term.
"Using a VSPPA, you can become a leader in growing solar just by buying electricity," said Michael Erickson, Vice-President of Finance and Business Development at Community Green Energy. "CGE provided the experience and knowledge regarding the funding requirements for grid-connected solar. AUS provided the commodity expertise to bring the power from an off-site solar project directly to your facilty."
Community Green Energy, LLC will also be a "Door Prize Sponsor," donating 250 renewable energy certificates (RECs) to the winner. 250 RECs have the carbon equivalency of 279,715 lbs. of CO2 not being produced. This represents the emission avoidance of the electricity used to power 19 homes for one year.
