RALEIGH, NC, April 18, 2013 (Press-News.org) SfL+a Architects (http://www.sfla.biz) has announced that Chad M. Volk, AIA, NCARB, project manager at the firm, has received his architecture license from the American Institute of Architects. This achievement will not only bring additional responsibility to his current role as project manager, but will add to his level of professional credibility as well. The rigorous registration and licensure process includes several years of work experience and education, and requires the passage of seven portions of the Architectural Regulation Examination. As project manager at SfL+a Architects, Volk is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the design and construction phases of project management, as well as maintaining communication and coordination efforts with engineers, construction managers and business owners.
A native of Mansfield, Ohio, Volk received a bachelor's degree in architecture from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and a master's degree in architecture from NC State University. He worked as an intern architect with JL Bender Architects and Planners in Columbus, as well as with Davis Kane Architects in Raleigh, where he fulfilled his intern development program requirement. Prior to joining SfL+a Architects, Volk served as an independent contractor with Omega Design Architecture in Cary, N.C., and project manager with Moseley Architects in Morrisville, N.C. Active in the local business community, Volk is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards (NCARB), the Young Architects Forum, the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, and is co-chair for the 2012 and 2013 AIA Triangle Tour of Residential Architecture.
QUOTES:
"We are very proud of Chad for obtaining his architecture license," said Robbie Ferris, president and CEO of SfL+a Architects. "This is an outstanding accomplishment for him and the firm, and exemplifies his hard work and dedication to our industry. This license is not easy to earn, and speaks to his strong work ethic, knowledge and professional experience."
"This achievement means so much to me," said Volk. "My architecture license provides me with the professional credibility necessary to further pursue my passion for architecture and design, especially within my local community. This is an important step in my career, and I could not have accomplished this without the help and support of my family, friends and colleagues."
