FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, April 18, 2013 (Press-News.org) Through the month of February to March 17, St. Patrick's Day, The New Miami Subs Grill provided customers with an opportunity show their support for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) by purchasing a $1 or $5 shamrock at any Florida location during the MDA's annual Shamrocks Against Dystrophy fundraiser. The New Miami Subs Grill has announced that they have raised over $8,000 through the program, with the Sample Road location taking the lead.
All proceeds raised during the Shamrocks Against Dystrophy fundraiser help send children ages 6-17 affected by neuromuscular diseases to MDA Summer Camp. This one-of-a-kind camp experience offers a wide range of activities geared to the abilities of campers, including fishing, swimming, horseback riding, arts and crafts and nature study, and provides an unmatched opportunity to develop lifelong friendships and build self-confidence. The $8,000 raised by The New Miami Subs Grill will send 10 children to MDA Summer Camp.
MDA annually sponsors nearly 80 weeklong summer camp sessions, serving 3,500 children across the country and in Puerto Rico. The cost of sending one child to MDA Summer Camp is $800.
