LateRooms.com - Take the Kids to El Superbarber de Sevilla While in Barcelona

El Superbarber de Seville is an interpretation of a classic opera that has been written to appeal to children.

2010-10-29
BARCELONA, SPAIN, October 29, 2010 (Press-News.org) Youngsters will be sure to enjoy a trip to the theatre in Barcelona if their parents take them to see El Superbarber de Seville this year.

It will be performed at the city's Gran Teatre de Liceu on November 20th and 21st, with a colourful and entertaining cast guaranteed to keep children amused throughout the 75-minute running time.

Describing the production, the venue said: "Rossini's opera Il barbiere di Siviglia [has been] revised and adapted for the young by the company Tricicle on the basis of their own highly distinctive humour."

While the show has been put together with youngsters in mind, there will be plenty of moments for parents to enjoy as a result of it being based on such a famous source - known as The Barber of Seville in English.

This story sees music and comedy mixed brilliantly, as local barber Figaro helps his old boss Count Almaviva to try to win the heart of Rosina.

It is adapted from a short story written by the Frenchman Beaumarchais and is sure to provide a great experience for guests at the cheap hotels Barcelona has to offer.

The piece is joint production between the venue and Institut Valencia de la Musica, with music coming from Gioachino Rossini and costumes by Anna Guell.

Tickets for this fun and energetic show cost EUR11 (GBP9.80) and the action begins at 12:00 local time on both days.

For more information on this event visit the Gran Teatre de Liceu website or contact the venue on +34 93 485 99 00.
