Berkman Forwarding Invests in New European Offices to Boost Revenue

Berkman Forwarding has achieved constant growth during the global economic downturn and is currently implementing plans to expand even further in the near future.

2010-10-29
SAN DIEGO, CA, October 29, 2010 (Press-News.org) Berkman Forwarding has achieved constant growth during the global economic downturn and iscurrently implementing plans to expand even further in the near future.

The company operates from 11 offices in four different countries - Holland, China, Vietnam and India -and employs in excess of 80 employees.

The company exclusively revealed to Supply Chain Digital that the next step will be to open new offices in other European countries, especially Belgium and Germany owing to their strong industrial roots. Managing Directors Ed Arnold and Jan Berkman believe this will enhance customer service as they can offer a more local service to European clients.

The firm is also enhancing its technology systems in an attempt to make communication between the client and the company more efficient. It has recently invested in new IP systems and the continuous development of a plethora of logistics information systems including track and trace facilities.

"It is an absolute must to stay in close contact with our customers. We stay in touch with them either by telephone or by making personal visits; we have also learned that a user-friendly website is a very important tool these days. This way we are always up-to-date and in case of any problems, we can solve them quickly, and the new developments will be paramount in keeping in touch with our clients. It is a very important step for the company," said Berkman.

The company goes above and beyond the call of duty to promote customer loyalty and satisfaction, offering a "tailor made" service. "We can offer a reliable service which is not limited to arranging ocean freight transport. We offer a total logistic concept," said Arnold.

Operating since 1903 Berkman Forwarding is a global company that transports cargo around the world.
