RALEIGH, NC, April 25, 2013 (Press-News.org) Bruce Clarke, president and CEO of CAI (http://www.capital.org), a human resource management firm that helps organizations maximize employee engagement while minimizing employer liability, announced that the company will host its 2013 Employment and Labor Law Update. The conference will be held on Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23 from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the McKimmon Center located at 1101 Gorman St. Executives, corporate counsels, HR professionals, managers and supervisors who need to know the latest developments in state and federal employment law are encouraged to attend.
The conference will provide participants with the knowledge necessary to ensure their companies are in compliance with the employment and labor legal changes over the last year. Attendees will receive tips and tactics to strengthen their employee handbooks and improve policies companywide. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to network with leading employment law attorneys and more than 350 HR executives, managers, professionals and other company leaders from the Triangle and Eastern North Carolina.
Attorneys of Ogletree Deakins, a premier employment and labor law firm, will lead the presentations. Former National Labor Relations Board member Brian Hayes joins this year's lineup of knowledgeable attorneys from Ogletree Deakins. He will share his view on the board's recent rulings and give advice for handling new challenges during his can't-miss session. Presentation topics will include: federal and state employment laws, effective hiring practices, workplace issues caused by new technology, the Affordable Care Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act, unemployment insurance reform, Department of Labor wage and hour audits, immigration legislation, and more. In addition, the conference will include a panel discussion with the attorneys.
