Philadelphia- University City, PA - Bathroom remodeling

2010-10-29
PHILADELPHIA, PA, October 29, 2010 (Press-News.org) We recently re-designed and renovated an existing 3rd floor bathroom of an 1894 historical University City, PA home. Not only were there space complications and constraints, the owners of the home wanted this guest bathroom converted into a sleek, spa-like bathroom that would double as a retreat for their guests after a long day. This was not a cosmetic makeover - it was a total structural renovation. In so many words, the homeowners wanted a guest bathroom that was constructed like a master bathroom.

As the homeowners were looking to achieve an aesthetically unique Zen-like space, we took certain measures to ensure that they would get exactly what they wanted and be satisfied with the project. For instance, the room was taken all the way down to the bare lath and then completely re-built into a very modern bathroom. In the process, the old bathtub was replaced with a glass-enclosed shower while the floors and walls were covered with pebble tiles to compliment the more modern shower.

Additionally, the former shower window was covered over with glass blocks. This was done for more privacy, but also to still let plenty of light into the bathroom. This proved to be a nice, modernistic touch that complimented what we had done with the shower as well as the floors and walls. Today, the homeowner has a guest bathroom that they are proud of and that welcomes their overnight visitors as well.

dRemodeling looks forward to working with you, whether transforming your kitchen into a dream working space or creating that perfect place for retreating on your own in a renovated bathroom, or even if you simply want to increase the value of your home by adding a room or updating your roof.
