"Breakthroughs", Along with Host Martin Sheen, Discusses the Efficiency of Solar Panels, an Alternative Energy Source

Consumers have new options with the power of the sun.

2013-04-28
WEST PALM BEACH, FL, April 28, 2013 (Press-News.org) As the main source of energy on our planet, the sun's power is undeniable. By supplying much needed heat and light, the sun sustains life on earth to and allows it to flourish and grow. Though solar collectors and the like have been utilized since the 18th century, it wasn't until the last few hundred years when incredible advances have been made to harness the sun's vast energy. Nowadays, Solar Energy is even more efficient and easier to utilize at home and at your business.

The use of solar panels has skyrocketed in recent years as consumers place an emphasis "going green" and reduce their carbon footprint. Use of solar energy substantially reduces utilization of energy created by nuclear plants and the burning of fossil fuels, which lessens or reliance on these resources. Another major component of solar panels is cost. Many consumers, burdened by the rising cost of electricity, have sought out solar energy as a more affordable option.

"Breakthroughs" with Martin Sheen will feature companies, manufacturers, and organizations in an effort to educate the audience on the advantages of solar energy.

The series is not distributed through PBS. Please contact Breakthroughs via email at info@breakthroughsptv.com or go online to www.breakthroughsptv.com to learn more at the Public Television series.
