DALLAS, TX, May 01, 2013
Dallas homebuilder Grenadier Homes has hired Amy Zimmerman, 39, as purchasing manager for its interests in Long Cove. Grenadier Homes is the general contractor for Long Cove, a luxury housing development currently under construction. When completed, it will span more than 1,000 acres and six miles of shoreline along Cedar Creek Lake."I get to work from home most of the time," says Zimmerman. "I live in Prosper and can do most of my duties from here, but I also go down to Cedar Creek Lake once a week or so to check on the site and make sure everything is going smoothly. It's a beautiful area. They're in phase one of the build, but the magic shines through. Being at Long Cove is like being in your own little world. It's breathtaking, peaceful and warm - it's an ideal place for families."
In her new post, Zimmerman primarily will be responsible for purchasing and estimating; negotiating with buyers, vendors and trade bases; acquiring building materials and supplies; and coordinating between the builders and sales teams to ensure smooth operations.
"One of the best things about working for Grenadier is that you get to be creative. They give you the freedom to do your job the way you think it should be done. Also, the owners are very involved - they are 100% invested. They truly care about the business and the people involved in it," notes Zimmerman.
Zimmerman has been in the homebuilding business for almost 20 years, starting as an assistant at Centex Homes in San Antonio and quickly working her way up to the job she's always wanted: purchasing manager. She's worked for a number of homebuilders over the years, the most recent of which was purchasing manager of Windsor Homes. Zimmerman also has an entrepreneurial spirit, having run her own successful remodeling and decorating company for two years.
"I enjoyed owning and running my own company, but I missed being in the homebuilding business. I went to work for a homebuilder while I was still in college, and it got into my blood - I'm actually passionate about it. Some people work. I get to live my passion. We're helping people build homes - places where their families will live and grow together," explains Zimmerman. "It's so great to be a part of that."

It is recognized throughout the industry as a leader in customer satisfaction, workmanship, integrity, innovation and perseverance. Although the company was founded in 1990 by Anthony Natale and John Egnatis, Grenadier Homes can trace its roots back to the 1960s when Natale's father, Nick, built a custom-designed home for the Egnatis family. Natale and Egnatis became neighbors and close friends, frequently playing ice hockey together on Grenadier pond. The build had a major impact on them both, and later they created Grenadier Homes with that in mind - to make a positive difference in people's lives through homebuilding.
