The Grauer School Offers Educational Summer Classes and Camps

The Grauer School, located at 1500 S. El Camino Real in Encinitas, is offering a diverse, accredited summer school curriculum for students who are looking to retake a class or accelerate their studies

2013-05-02
RANCHO SANTA FE, CA, May 02, 2013 (Press-News.org) The Grauer School, located at 1500 S. El Camino Real in Encinitas, is offering a diverse, accredited summer school curriculum for students who are looking to retake a class or accelerate their studies. Open to all students in grades 6-12, The Grauer School Summer Session offers weeklong enrichment programs and classes that are UC approved and fully accredited. This year's summer sessions are scheduled to run from June 24 through July 12 (with July 4th off in observance of Independence Day) and July 15 through August 2. Enrollment is open now through June 14. Descriptions of the classes, fees, transfer credits, prerequisites, and the enrollment application can be located at http://www.grauerschool.com.

Providing the lowest student to teacher ratio of any San Diego private college prep school (7:1), core classes will be offered in math, history, English, biology, chemistry, physics, Spanish, French and ASL with camps in art, music, geography, writing, math and spelling. Classes are teacher-lead with a defined pace of completion. A full semester is condensed into three weeks, therefore demanding personal motivation and autonomous work capabilities on behalf of the student in order to successfully complete each course. A number of the courses offer content blended with independent, online sources for students to work on outside of school.

According to Clayton Payne, Summer School Principal and Dean of Students, "Selecting the appropriate summer school program for your child can make the difference in the overall academic selection process when your child applies for entrance into a college or university of their choice. The Grauer School is able to offer UC approved classes that will not only serve to educate the students enrolled in our classes but also expose them to our in-depth one-on-one attention. Students who are willing to commit to at least two to three hours of homework daily for UC accredited courses will successfully graduate from this program. In addition, virtually all summer school classes can be offered in an independent studies format, an ideal option for students with busy or complicated schedules."

The Grauer School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), a member of the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS), and is the only school in the region to be honored as a designated UNESCO school. The school serves as an inspirational educational model that balances expeditionary learning, humanitarian service and college preparation for hundreds of private schools around the world through the Coalition of Small Preparatory Schools (CSPS) established by Founding Head of School, Dr. Stuart Grauer. Students at The Grauer School receive an average of over $300,000 per student in college merit scholarships.
