Palo Alto, CA Orthodontist Committed to Creating a Beautiful, Healthy "Ageless" Smiles

"Non-invasive, non-extraction orthodontic treatment means less discomfort and less time."comments Dr. Eric Wu of Wu Orthodontics. "That means a healthy, brilliant smile can be yours with fewer visits and with fewer appointments!"

2013-05-03
PALO ALTO, CA, May 03, 2013 (Press-News.org) Why would you want braces in the first place? There are certainly many reasons, but some of the most common include a more attractive smile, reduced appearance-consciousness during critical-development years, better function of the teeth, an increase in self-confidence and better long term health of the teeth and gums. So now that you know what there is to be gained, the next thing you need to do is come in to see us at Wu Orthodontics!

Initial Evaluation

It is our aim to provide our patients and their families with state-of-the-art orthodontic care. Your first visit with us will include a complimentary orthodontic evaluation that includes: filling out your complete dental and medical history forms. A comprehensive soft tissue, skeletal and dental evaluation. We'll also take three extra-oral photographs and five intra-oral photographs. Once Dr. Wu has evaluated your dental/medical history forms and completed your orthodontic exam, he will provide you with an orthodontic consultation to go over your estimated treatment plan and payment options.

At Wu Orthodontics, the difference in our orthodontic office is our commitment to providing non-invasive, non-extraction orthodontic treatment. Dr. Eric Wu offers both Damon System Braces and Invisalign Clear Braces as alternatives to straightening teeth that is faster and more comfortable than traditional orthodontic braces! Both methods often don't require tooth extractions and that means that you're able to experience less pain, have fewer office visits, and quicker appointments, not to mention more time enjoying their new smile! Talk to Dr. Wu and learn more about Damon System Braces and Invisalign as a way to straighten your teeth, improve your confidence, and gain more attractive professional appearance.

Don't Wait to Evaluate

It's in an individual's best interest to initiate orthodontic treatment as early as possible. That's why Dr. Wu uses Phase I and Phase II treatment methodologies. What is Phase I and Phase II treatment? Phase I, or early interceptive treatment, is limited orthodontic treatment before all of the permanent teeth have erupted. Such treatment can occur between the ages of six and ten. This treatment is sometimes recommended to make more space for developing teeth, correction of cross-bites, overbites, under-bites, or harmful oral habits.

Phase II treatment is also called comprehensive treatment because it involves full braces when all of the permanent teeth have erupted, usually between the ages of eleven and thirteen. We limit early treatment to situations where it truly matters and where it can make a difference to overall treatment outcomes. But don't worry. You'll be happy to know that over 25% of our patients at Wu Orthodontics are adults. Which means you can enjoy a healthy smile at any age
