NEW YORK, NY, May 03, 2013 (Press-News.org) Coranet announces the release of the third issue in its "Straight Talk" series on Strategic Technology Support. Read the FULL PIECE.
In this series, CEO Margaret Marcucci shares different perspectives on network project management and other aspects of technology communications. "This issue is important reading for organizations on all sides of the technology buying equation - suppliers, clients and even those organizations who choose to provide support internally and want to evaluate effectiveness," according to Marcucci.
Coranet has released new research that sheds insight on 'Must-Have' characteristics of competent and trusted technology partners. These findings draw on research by the technology research firm IntelliCom Analytics, which conducted a study on the various decision factors associated with selecting an external support provider in the summer of 2012. In-depth qualitative follow-up interviews and Coranet's own customer feedback supplemented the quantitative findings.
The strongest predictors of a successful external support relationship are as follows:
Must Have #1: Technical Excellence
96% of decision-makers rate this attribute as a 'Must-Have'. These individuals view Technical Excellence as the sum of several contributing competencies, including technological scope, cradle-to-grave capability, and multi-vendor skills.
Must Have #2: Sense of Urgency
With a 92% rating, this attribute is all about the provider acting as if the customer's business is as important as their own.
Must Have #3: Provider Commitment
87% of decision-makers rate this attribute as a 'Must-Have'. The providers held in the highest regard all demonstrate a clear and unwavering commitment to their customer's business success.
Must Have #4: Ease of Doing Business
For the 84% who rated this as a 'Must-Have,' an ability to reach the provider, especially someone in authority, is critical.
Must Have #5: Provider Flexibility
79% of decision-makers rate this attribute as a 'Must-Have'. The hallmark of flexibility is the willingness of the provider to tailor its support to meet the specific needs of the customer.
In conclusion, Marcucci points out that all support providers are not created equal, and careful selection of your provider is likely to pay major dividends. Using these five 'Must Haves' as guidelines can help you choose a provider that is truly a partner in your on-going success.
