Morris founded Morris Commercial in 1988 after 14 years in custom homebuilding and residential development. Morris graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1969 and has been a deeply rooted Chapel Hill resident since that time. He has been involved with numerous professional and volunteer organizations and currently serves as a board member of the North Carolina Children's Home Foundation, board member of the Wells Fargo Chapel Hill Advisory Board, building committee member for the Kidzu's Children's Museum in Chapel Hill, member of the advisory board for the Ronald McDonald House and the Charles House Adult Daycare Center.
