LateRooms.com - Motorhead Set to Rock Dusseldorf

Dusseldorf music fans are preparing to welcome Motorhead on November 30th.

2010-10-30
DUSSELDORF, GERMANY, October 30, 2010 (Press-News.org) Heavy metal legends Motorhead will be travelling to Dusseldorf for a performance at the Philipshalle next month.

Lemmy and his band of veteran rockers are sure to inspire some frenzied head-banging among Dusseldorf hotel guests when they arrive in the German city on Tuesday November 30th.

Formed in 1975, the British group built up a devoted following with the release of albums such as Overkill, Bomber and No Sleep 'til Hammersmith.

They are perhaps best known for the raucous sound of their 1980 hit single Ace of Spades, which has soundtracked countless films and spawned cover versions from artists around the world.

Motorhead also boast one of heavy metal's most recognisable frontmen, as Lemmy's famous mutton-chop sideburns, gruff vocals and reputation for excess have made him a cultural icon.

Along with guitarist Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee on drums, the band's leader continues to delight audiences with his uncompromising attitude.

Motorhead are set to release their 20th studio album, The World Is Yours, in December.

The ten-track record will be the band's first release since Motorizer in 2008 and has been produced by long-term collaborator Cameron Webb.

People heading to the show in Dusseldorf can expect to hear tracks from the new album, which features songs entitled Born to Lose, Brotherhood of Man and Outlaw.

Classic material from the back catalogue is also expected to feature in the set and fans will no doubt be hoping for a rousing rendition of Ace of Spades to round off the evening.

Motorhead recently recorded a slowed-down version of the song, which shows a more mellow side to the band, to feature in a new Kronenbourg 1664 commercial.

The Dusseldorf concert is due to begin at 20:00 local time and tickets are priced at EUR39.95 (GBP34.80).
