Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina volunteered to help the Charleston Food and Wine Festival in Charleston, SC on Friday March 1st 2013

2013-05-15
CHARLESTON, SC, May 15, 2013 (Press-News.org) Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina volunteered to help the Charleston Food and Wine Festival in Charleston, SC on Friday March 1st 2013. Attorney Evan Guthrie donated his time to help the internationally renowned festival in its eighth year of operation. The Food and Wine festival brings many visitors to the city and is a chance to showcase the best of what the city of Charleston has to offer in terms of hospitality and culinary experiences. Many professionals in the city donate their time to make sure to put the best foot forward and make sure that the event is a success. While the event is fun and offers many different tastes and exposures to cuisine, there are many ways that the event gives back to the city. The Festival helps raise money and funds for many local charities and school in the Charleston, SC area including the College of Charleston Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, The Culinary Institute of Charleston, and The International Culinary School At The Art Institute of Charleston.

Attorney Guthrie helped with events including a wine tasting called Culinary Institute of Charleston Presents A Taste Of Two South: Traditional Southern Food and the Wines of the Southern Rhône Valley that combined the wines of southern France with the cuisine of the Southern United States. The event featured James Beard Award-nominated Chef Joseph Lenn of Blackberry Farm and French wine importer Frederick Corriher of Route des Vins serving Southern American classics such as collards, Hoppin' John and smoked bacon with rustic wines of appellations such as Lirac, Ventoux, Gigondas and Châteauneuf-du-Pâpe. Mr. Guthrie helped pour the wine and serve the food courses to the patrons of the event. The festival relies on the help of volunteers to make sure the events function and are able to exist. Attorney Evan Guthrie was happy to help give back by volunteering with the 2013 Charleston Food and Wine Festival and make help make an event that is important to the overall image of the city a success. Mr. Guthrie looks forward to volunteering with the festival again in following years.
