TRUCKEE, CA, May 17, 2013 (Press-News.org) "Anyone can learn to surf," says Ken Gallant, South-End Surf 'N Paddle owner and surf guru. And his surf lessons are a testament to how a three day progression can get you riding some mellow LBI waves in that short amount of time.

Windward at the Beach, in Beach Haven, NJ is partnering with South-End Surf 'N Paddle to offer Surf Camp packages throughout the summer. The packages include three lessons (two hours each), rental boards for lessons, lodging at the eclectic Windward at the Beach Inn, plus some quality time in the water.

Windward's Surfin' Safari package is available for check-ins throughout the summer on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday for a three night stay (additional nights can be added at daily rates). Package rates include three nights of lodging, three surf lessons, equipment rental for lessons, daily coffee, beach badges, complimentary Wi-Fi, and daily happy hour chips & salsa. $525 per person double occupancy (studio room with queen bed or full bed and daybed); $395 quad occupancy (two room suite with two full beds & daybed).

Think girlfriend getaway, teen bonding, couple's therapy, family adventure - basically anyone can get on a board and feel the power of the sea. Kids under 12 are welcome, but can only be guaranteed day 1 (the instructor will evaluate and see if student is ready to move on).

Surfing on Long Beach Island has the benefit of utilizing both the bay and ocean for learning. Day 1 will be done on flat water in the bay. The objective for this day is learning the board, paddling the board, sitting on the board, turning on the board, duck diving, turtling, and determining what size board is best. Day 2 is the day of achievement, learning balance, maneuvering, and standing on the board for long periods of time. Stand-up paddle boards are used for this exercise. Day 3 takes you to the ocean, conquering waves, currents and other natural occurrences. Goals for the day include getting through the surf and into the lineup, learning how to catch waves, learning to stand, direction, and ultimately riding some waves.

Windward at the Beach is located just 200 steps to the white sand. A Victorian converted into studios, efficiencies, and two room suites, the Inn has a surf vibe with vibrant colors and energy.
