Your Next Move Discusses Correlation Between Senior Communities with a Home Sale Program in Place for Residents on their Wait List

Presentation points to understanding the financial and emotional obstacles of seniors as a key to converting waitlisters into residents.

2013-05-17
ASHEVILLE, NC, May 17, 2013 (Press-News.org) Leading Age North Carolina 2013 Annual Meeting -- A presentation given by Julie Kopetsky, CSA and founder of Your Next Move, recommends senior community managers can increase move-in rates by understanding the emotional and financial concerns that prevent residents from moving in once they've made a deposit.

In the presentation, conducted on May 14, 2013 at the Grove Park Inn, Ms. Kopetsky demonstrated several marketing strategies to help communities more effectively address the needs of their potential senior clients, including adding a home sale program to their list of services.

"The transition from their home, with all the associated memories, is very emotional," explained Ms Kopetsky. "And having a trusted advisor to help deal with all the details, especially pricing, is critical."

Your Next Move is a team of senior relocation experts who specialize in assisting seniors and their families with the transition from their home to senior living communities. Selling the home is usually the first step to finance the move into living communities. Because pricing the home is arguably the single-most important starting point in the transition process, Your Next Move works with two Realtors to provide a price opinion on the home and help set realistic expectations for the homeowner.

"We bring in two real estate professionals who are experts in location and price range, and who specialize in working with seniors," said Ms. Kopetsky. "This allows the homeowner to choose the Realtor they feel they can work best with."

Your Next Move works with senior community managers to handle all aspects of the home sale for their residents, as well as manage the ancillary service providers for downsizing, household good movers and home repair contractors. The collaboration allows the community marketing directors to focus on getting the new home ready for move-in and focus on developing new opportunities with potential residents.

Some of the additional highlights from Julie's presentation that further address the needs of community marketing directors, included:

• Understanding the different personality types of seniors and how to meet the needs of each.
• Setting implementation goals
• Overcoming objections and meeting client expectations

"Our aging loved ones deal with a multitude of emotions ranging from fear to stress and anxiety," explained Ms. Kopetsky. It's important for community marketing directors to understand these emotions so they can most effectively meet their residents' needs.

Your Next Move's home sell and project management services offer the community marketing director another tool to close the loop from deposit to move-in and convert prospective clients into residents by helping them overcome the financial barrier of financing their new long-term home.

Your Next Move, founded in 2010, is a highly qualified team of senior relocation specialists dedicated to providing the highest standards of individualized attention and care for families and their aging loved ones making the transition to senior housing. Your Next Moves upholds the respect and well-being of seniors, and provides a complete range of supportive services to ensure your next move is the right move - from the initial consultation to the final decision.
