CARY, NC, May 19, 2013 (Press-News.org) LORD Corporation (http://www.lord.com/) has announced that Becky Williams, LORD president of Asia Pacific, has been named a keynote speaker for the 7th Annual Women's Symposium to be held Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19 at Sias International University in Xincheng, China. The symposium is hosted by The World Academy for the Future of Women, a program composed of men and women committed to helping young people develop the leadership skills needed for the 21st century. Williams joins Vanda Vitali, a senior consultant with the International Museum Institute, and Larry Poe, co-creator of Applied Cognistics LLC, as the keynote speakers for the event.
Spanning more than 30 years, Williams began her career with LORD in 1979 as a material and process engineer before joining the Aerospace Product Design group in 1984. She served as director of marketing communications and customer service in 2005, followed by director of marketing and sales for electronics and automotive markets in North America. In 2009, she was named director of the elastomer process materials value stream before being appointed to president of Asia Pacific in May 2012. In between she also held the position of VP global marketing and business development. She received her Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering as well as her MBA from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
