MINNEAPOLIS, MN, May 20, 2013 (Press-News.org) Radio personality Georgia Ellyse will make her on-screen acting debut this Wednesday in the indie short "Drinks."
The rising star was cast as leading lady in the film about a young, troubled woman who turns to alcohol and men for comfort while reversing traditional gender roles. The film also features Minneapolis actor/comedian Chad J. Shannon.
"You can definitely expect to see me out of my element in this project," said Ellyse, who co-hosts The Wake Up Show on Columbus, Ga.'s number-one rated WFXE Foxie 105FM. "I feel really good about it. It was a tremendous opportunity to work with Colliding Pictures."
While "Drinks" marks Ellyse's on-screen acting debut, she is no stranger to the camera. She is a regular model for nationally broadcast ShopNBC and has appeared on BET's 106 & Park as a guest judge. She also served as the face of a national Woodchuck Case ad campaign.
The film's director, Big Mak, and crew found Ellyse a pleasure to work with. "Georgia was professional, sincere, listened to direction and enjoyable," said Mak.
Alan Tracy, director of photography, agreed. "When Georgia delivered her first line, I immediately knew we were working with someone very talented. I would love the opportunity to make another film with her."
Presented by Colliding Pictures, "Drinks" will be released digitally on May 22, 2013. For more information and to view the short's trailer, visit http://www.collidingpictures.com.
