LifeCenter Plus Introduces Pilates at the Barre Class

Health and Fitness Club Adds Class that Incorporates Pilates, Ballet, and Yoga with Focus on Stretches and Movements to Prevent Exercise Routine

2013-05-22
HUDSON, OH, May 22, 2013 (Press-News.org) LifeCenter Plus Health and Fitness Club introduces Pilates at the Barre class in their recently renovated Pilates studio, designed specifically for barre workouts. The class features Yoga, Ballet and Pilates stretches and movements to tone and strengthen muscles. Every segment of the class helps to continue improving fitness and weight loss results and prevent exercise routine.

"Pilates at the Barre is a great, full-body workout that targets all of the major muscle groups and offers exercise variances that muscles do not get accustomed to," said Jerry Lynch, co-owner of LifeCenter Plus. "It is essential to switch up workouts and muscle areas of concentration, in order to continue improving fitness or weight loss. As a fitness club with a diverse range of age groups, we're excited to offer this class that everyone can benefit from."

The renovated studio accommodates more than a dozen participants. Ballet barres are located on four walls and span the entire perimeter of the room. A certified instructor stands in the center with a barre for easy viewing and synchronized participation. Weights in a variety of sizes and balls for toning aids are available for the entire class.

Pilates at the Barre combines elements of Pilates, Yoga and Ballet, with intervals of stretching and cardio that creates a high-intensity workout. Classes concentrate on every major muscle group of the body in squatting and strengthening. Participants use a ballet barre for balance, during intense stretching. Muscles are elongated and toned for increased endurance and strength. Attendants see results are fast and include improved flexibility and core strength with a more toned physique.

"Classes begin by warming up the leg muscles with micro movements, in place," said Brigid DiPaolo, Pilates at the Barre instructor at LifeCenter Plus. "Then, we do sculpting segments for each muscle group in different squatting and ballet positions. After each group is fatigued, we incorporate Yoga stretches to remove lactic acid. In between each segment is 90 seconds of cardio. It's a fun, fast-paced and intense workout, great for quick toning."

Every Pilates at the Barre session is free for members and guests of LifeCenter Plus, however, participants are asked to sign up for a class 24 hours in advance, due to high demand.

Classes are offered on Mondays at 9:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.; on Wednesdays at 8:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.; on Fridays at 8:45 a.m.; and on Saturdays at 8:00 a.m., at LifeCenter Plus.
