VACAVILLE, CA, May 28, 2013 (Press-News.org) CALINC Training, the leading provider of EPA Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) certification courses for California, urges all contractors and subcontractors to complete their RRP certification in light of recent enforcement actions taken by the EPA. The EPA has clearly shown its commitment to enforce lead rules to protect people from exposure to lead and to ensure a level playing field for contractors that follow the rules with recent enforcement actions by the EPA's Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance.
The enforcement actions against 17 contractors across the United States address serious violations of the RRP rules, including 14 actions where the contractor or subcontractor did not obtain RRP certification prior to performing work on pre-1978 buildings. These enforcement actions also included the assessment of civil penalties of up to $23,000.
"We strongly support the EPA's recent actions to enforce lead-safe work practices," said Ms. Carla Wroten, Director of CALINC Training. "Lead exposure causes a large number of health hazards, not only to residents, but contractors and their workers as well. Getting RRP certified ensures that people will be protected from exposure and the following negative health effects."
CALINC Training is one of California's largest abatement and remediation training companies and provides a broad number of EPA and OSHA compliant training and certification courses for Lead, Asbestos, Mold, Hazwoper, and construction safety.
To get RRP certified, or to learn more about CALINC Training's different certification courses, please visit the website at www.cal-inc.com or call (800) 359-4467.
