SAN ANTONIO, TX, June 03, 2013 (Press-News.org) Rudy Nino & the Blanco Historic Preservation Commission invites you to a Hands-on Window Restoration Workshop at Twin Sisters Dance Hall
Members of the Blanco Historic Preservation Commission and members of the Twin Sisters Dance Hall will co-sponsor a window restoration workshop on Saturday, June 8th, 2013.
South & Central Texas area homeowners are invited to a restoration workshop from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at 'Preservation Restoration Project' at the Twin Sisters Dance Hall located at 6720 Hwy. 281
Everyone is advised to bring a pair of cloves, 3M TEKK protection paint sanding respirator, and safety glasses. Donations will be accepted to defer the cost of materials.
Workshop attendees will learn how to repair remove window units, repair rotted wood sections, replace missing components, adjust frames, remove and reapply glazing, remove and reapply paint, how caulking and weather stripping can alleviate drafts and make windows more efficient, and maintain old sash windows with techniques from a preservation master-carpenter as they also help support the ongoing rehabilitation of Twin Sisters Dance Hall, build in the1870.
