TargetGov Sponsoring a Series of Webinars for Veteran-Owned and Service Disabled Small Businesses

A free series of webinars aimed at helping Veteran-Owned and Service Disabled Small Businesses will allow attendees to learn everything they need to know about seeing more success in the federal contracting marketplace.

BALTIMORE, MD, June 09, 2013 (Press-News.org) TargetGov is sponsoring a series of five complimentary webinars designed to help small businesses within the federal government. The webinars are taking place June and July, 2013. The series will help these businesses utilize their socio-economic certifications, provide information about surety bonding with the federal government, and demonstrate how businesses can plan and position themselves to see more success in contracting.

Instructing the series is Jack Beecher, recent retiree from the US Army Corps of Engineers who launching an LLC that will aid Small Businesses in a variety of ways; Brad Reaves, a lawyer with expertise of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Small Business Regulations; Scott Mahorsky, President of Mahorsky Group, Inc., a surety bonding company with experience supporting heavy equipment/construction and general contractors; and Gloria Larkin, President of TargetGov and a subject matter expert in government contracting. These instructors have the tools necessary to provide attendees with practical and helpful information in the field of government contracting.

The first webinar, "Tips for Success & Surety Bonding Pt. 1" on June 18, 2013 will be instructed by Jack Beecher and Scott Mahorsky. It includes Jack Beecher's "12 Tips for Success" to help companies be better positioned to win contracts and it will review the basics of surety bonding.

Jack Beecher will also instruct the second webinar, "How to See Success as a VOSB/SDVOSB Contractor" on June 26, 2013. It has a specific focus on the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) successful SDVOSB program. Jack Beecher, who recently retired from the position of USACE Chief of the Norfolk District's Small Business Program, will share some of the upcoming set-asides he sees on the horizon. Jack also possess 25 years as a contracting officer with USACE.

Third in the series, "Surety Bonding pt. 2" will be a continuation of the first webinar and is taking place on July 10, 2013. Instructor Scott Mahorsky espouses specific strategies and techniques that have the ability to double or triple bond programs. It will also provide contractors with larger single and aggregate program limits that lead to significantly larger profits.

Brad Reeves instructs, "What You Need to Know: Certification and Verification for Veteran-Owned Businesses" on July 17, 2013. This webinar will teach attendees how to be eligible for service-disabled and veteran owned contract set-asides by becoming verified. They will learn how to be prepared for the verification process, common reasons for delay in the process, and how to increase a company's probability of verification.

Finally, Gloria Larkin will instruct "Position to Win: Plan, Position and Pursue Government Business" on July 25, 2013. The session covers the critical differences between effective government and private sector marketing strategies and tactics. Attendees will learn how to identify the multiple layers of decision-makers, reach out to them and build relationships that lead to solid business opportunities as a prime contractor, subcontractor and teaming partner.

With these free comprehensive and informative webinars on hand, attendees will be able to leverage their skills and expertise in a useful and profitable way to see more success in a diverse and competitive marketplace.
