NEW YORK, NY, June 09, 2013 (Press-News.org) Product Of My Environment the short film has been accepted into the New York City International Film Festival. The 3rd largest film festival in New York. This notification took the cast and crew by surprise.
Little did they know that Manager Craig Xcel had his eyes on this film festival. Than this little film and the film festival surprised everyone again by receiving 2 nominations, one for Best Narrative Short Film and one for Best Drama In A Short Film. What will this short film do next?
Product Of My Environment is a 44.51 minute short film adapted from the book Product Of My Environment From Me To You by Author Reiko Brown. The story is a true and very painful journey of the life of author Reiko Brown, growing up in New York City during it's violent past in the 70's and 80's. Drugs, gangs, crime and much more was part of her daily battle. The performances from the cast like lead actress Monique Robinson who played Rachel was one of a kind. The pain from the book came through in every scene with Ms. Robinson. Supporting actress Rosalind Russell portrayal of Rachel's mother was so powerful many have nick named her Angela Bassett in reference to the great Hollywood actress. The 2 leading male actors Kojo Boama, Rachel's love interest "Kendu", and RayMartell Moore, Rachel's love interest "Eric" had the young female viewers swooning.
The cast, crew, family, friends and followers of P.O.M.E. are wondering what's next in line for the "little story that could". Are there anymore surprises coming? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
There is one showing scheduled for Product Of My Environment (P.O.M.E.) at the New York City International Film Festival on June 14, 2013 at 3:30 pm at the MIST Theatre in Harlem New York. You can order tickets online at NYCIFF.com. To view the trailer visit http://www.ProductOfMyEnvironment.net.

2013-06-09
While great strides have been made in some parts of the country in recognizing the relationships of same sex couples, the fact is that not all regions throughout the country offer the same levels of protection. Depending on where you are, local laws may not always respect your California rights as married couples or domestic partners. Because of this, legal documents that help protect your rights as a partner or spouse should be easily accessible when traveling out of state or you could end up in a situation such as not being allowed to have a hospital visitation.
