WASHINGTON, DC, June 15, 2013 (Press-News.org) Frank J. Wilich, Jr., President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Specialty Hospitals of America, LLC (SHA), announced the promotions of Susan Bailey and Cathy Borris-Hale to reflect the company's expanding role in the Washington, D.C., healthcare community and accommodate new partnerships with referring hospitals in the Greater Washington region.
Susan Bailey, MPA RN, will become Senior Vice President of SHA and Regional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for SHA's Specialty Hospitals of Washington (SHW) operating subsidiaries: SHW-Capitol Hill and SHW-Hadley. Ms. Bailey who joined SHA in 2006 graduated from nursing school and went on to earn an MBA and Masters in Public Health. Her education and more than 25 years' experience in hospital management give her a unique perspective on the best ways to transform patient access to the high-acuity care provided at SHW.
"Susan is an inspiring leader and as CEO for Specialty Hospitals of Washington's two campuses, she will streamline the ability of our clinical teams to provide the best possible outcomes for patients with medially complex conditions in a specialized setting," said Wilich.
Cathy Borris-Hale will become Vice President and Interim Chief Executive Officer for SHW-Hadley. A native of Washington, Cathy possesses a Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration and was recently appointed by the Mayor as a member of the DC Board of Nursing.
In announcing her promotion Wilich explained, "Cathy has performed extraordinarily well over the past five years at SHW-Hadley, initially as Chief Nursing Executive and recently as Chief Operating Officer. In her new role she will bring both a strong clinical focus and an unwavering passion for service to the medically underserved."
