NEW ORLEANS, LA, June 19, 2013 (Press-News.org) The maritime industry will be setting a course for New Orleans this October. Registration is now open for the 34th International WorkBoat Show, North America's largest commercial marine trade show and conference, which will be held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center from Wednesday, October 9, through Friday, October 11.

A record number of exhibitors and customers are expected for the 2013 Show, which will feature more than 1,100 exhibitors, the Fifth Annual WorkBoat Executive Summit, WorkBoat Professional Series and the Eighth Annual Shipyard Day that includes the 10 Significant Boats of 2013 Awards Ceremony and the WorkBoat Environmental Awards.

"The 2012 show was a record setter, attracting 1,100 exhibitors and more than 14,500 visitors from 45 states and 27 countries," said Show Director Bob Callahan of Diversified Business Communications, producers of the Show, which Tradeshow Week ranks as one of the Top 200 largest U.S. trade shows. "The WorkBoat Show continues to be the premier marketplace for businesses working on the coastal, inland and offshore waters."

Callahan noted that the 2013 WorkBoat Show is moving from its traditional dates in early December to October.

"With the renovation of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center's Hall A into the 60,000 square foot Great Hall and a pre-existing booking in Halls E-J, the WorkBoat Show will be moving from their normal dates in December," says Stephen Perry, President & CEO of the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau. "As one of the city's most important customers and most respected long-term business partners, we are delighted that we had alternate dates to offer that allowed the show to continue to maximize their growth and maintain their commitment to New Orleans, now and into the future."

"The WorkBoat Show is really where the industry comes together and it's the key show for this market," commented Martin Meissner, ZF Marine. "It's a world class show."

Fifth Annual WorkBoat Executive Summit, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 8

Krapf said the Summit is designed exclusively for senior managers from every sector of the commercial marine industry including fleet owners, builders and finance executives.

Matt Taibbi, Rolling Stone Contributing Editor and author of Griftopia, will be the keynote speaker.
